Terms of Use

Faircopy is a personal project, built and run by one individual, and published as a portfolio piece. It is not a company, not a commercial service, and not staffed. There is no support desk, no uptime commitment, and no guarantee it will still be running tomorrow.

By using it you accept that, and accept these terms. If you do not, please just don't use it.

You may create an account with an email address and a password. Doing so stores that email, a hashed password, and whatever you put into the app — the briefs you paste, the proposals generated from them, and any client records or templates you create.

Your content is yours. You keep ownership of the briefs you paste and of the proposals produced from them, and you can delete your account and everything in it at any time from the account page.

Do not paste anything you are not free to share — the briefs you enter are sent to Anthropic to generate a proposal, and they are stored in this app's database until you delete them.

This build generates nothing on its own. It uses an Anthropic API key that you supply, and Anthropic bills your account directly for the usage. There is no allowance, no credit, and no intermediary.

Your key is held in your browser and sent with each generation request to be used for that one API call. It is not stored on any server, not written to any database, and not written to any log. The residual risk is the same one every browser-based tool of this kind carries: any script running on this page could read it. Use a key with a spend limit and revoke it when you are done.

You are responsible for your own key and for anything charged to your Anthropic account through it. Your use of Anthropic's API is governed by your agreement with Anthropic, not by this one.

Proposals are drafts produced by a language model. They can contain mistakes, and they can be confidently wrong about facts, figures, dates and scope. Read every one before it goes anywhere near a client.

You are responsible for what you send. Anything you generate here and then use commercially — a price, a deadline, a commitment — is your representation to your client, not mine.

This build takes no payments and sells nothing. There is no subscription, no plan, no card on file, and therefore nothing to refund or cancel. The subscription system visible in the source code is switched off.

Faircopy is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, lose data, or be withdrawn without notice.

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from your use of it — including lost work, lost business, or costs charged to your Anthropic account. If some liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid to use this service, which is nothing.

These terms may change if the project does. The date at the top is the version in force.
