You need the firm's website replaced before the merger is announced, and the new site has to hold two practice areas that currently have separate identities. This proposal covers the rebuild and the content migration.
The brief asks for a full rebuild, a bilingual site, a client portal with document upload, and a case-study library — with a launch six weeks out and a fixed budget of R45,000. Those do not fit together, and I would rather say so now than discover it in week four.
The client portal alone is the larger half of that budget: it needs authentication, per-matter access control, secure storage, and an audit trail, and getting any of those wrong on a legal site is a real problem rather than a cosmetic one.
Here is what I recommend instead, in two phases:
Phase 1 — the six weeks and the budget you have. The full public site, bilingual, both practice areas properly represented, all existing content migrated. This is the part that has to be live for the announcement.
Phase 2 — after launch, quoted separately. The client portal and the case-study library, once the announcement is behind you and there is time to build them properly.
Everything below describes Phase 1.
Structure and content. One site covering both practice areas, with a navigation that makes it obvious which lawyers do what. Existing content migrated and lightly edited for consistency of voice.
Bilingual. English and Afrikaans throughout, with a language switch that persists across pages.
Design. Conservative and typographically careful — this is a firm whose clients are reassured by restraint, not by animation.
Compliance basics. POPIA-compliant contact forms and a privacy page drafted for your attorney to review. I write the draft; I do not sign off on it.

Week 6 ends three working days before the announcement date, deliberately.
